The Qatar Government Scholarship Programmes for the 2026–2027 academic cycle are officially open for applications.
The scholarship plan includes the Amiri Scholarship Programme, the Abroad Scholarship Programme, and the Local Scholarship Programme, which also includes the Tomouh Program.
These programmes support Qatari students at different academic levels, including bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and diploma studies.
Students may study locally at accredited universities in Qatar or internationally at leading universities in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, and Australia.
The scholarships cover a wide range of academic fields, including medicine, engineering, computer science, health sciences, applied sciences, education, professional diplomas, sports, creative industries, innovation, and other priority disciplines.
The Amiri Scholarship Programme is designed for outstanding high school graduates with excellent academic performance and provides opportunities to study at the world’s top ranked universities as well as leading local universities.
The Abroad Scholarship Programme allows students to pursue approved disciplines internationally, including newly added academic tracks such as education, professional diplomas, sports, and creative industries.
The Local Scholarship Programme supports study within Qatar’s accredited universities, especially institutions in Education City.

Applicants must be Qatari nationals.
Applicants must hold a high school diploma or a higher qualification.
Applicants must meet the required academic performance standards.
Applicants must choose an approved university and an approved academic discipline.
The scholarship is open to domestic Qatari students only.
Non Qatari students are not eligible to apply for these government scholarship programmes.

The Qatar Government Scholarships are fully funded and provide generous financial support depending on the scholarship type and study path.
For the Amiri Scholarship and Medicine Abroad track, students may receive a monthly basic and travel allowance ranging from QAR 8,000 to QAR 12,000.
Students in this track may also receive a one time pre travel grant of QAR 40,000.
Two business class flight tickets per year are included.
Study years may be counted toward national service.
For general abroad scholarships, students may receive a monthly basic allowance of QAR 8,000.
They may also receive a monthly travel allowance of QAR 6,000.
A pre travel bonus of QAR 25,000 is included.
Annual flight tickets are also provided.
For local scholarships, financial support is provided according to the field of study.
Students in medicine, education, and emergency response may receive QAR 10,000 per month.
Students in engineering, computer science, and health sciences may receive QAR 8,000 per month.
Students in applied sciences and arts may receive QAR 6,000 per month.
Students in professional diploma programmes may receive QAR 4,000 per month.
