Scholarship Details
The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships are designed to strengthen international research cooperation and academic exchange Each year the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students selects outstanding candidates from more than one hundred eighty countries
The program is open to early career researchers PhD candidates postdoctoral researchers and artists who wish to pursue advanced studies in Switzerland
Two main categories are available
Research Scholarships for postgraduate researchers across all academic fields These are offered at top Swiss institutions including ETH Zurich and EPFL as well as other universities and research centers
Art Scholarships for talented students who wish to pursue a masters degree in artistic disciplines at Swiss conservatories or art schools Available only for selected countries
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be citizens of eligible countries as defined by the program guidelines
Candidates must hold a relevant academic degree such as a masters or PhD depending on the scholarship type
The scholarship is open to all academic disciplines for research programs and artistic fields for art scholarships
Applicants must secure admission or affiliation with a recognized Swiss university or research institution
For research scholarships a written agreement with a Swiss academic supervisor is required
