The Faculty of Science at the University of Geneva (UNIGE) is a globally recognized hub for research and advanced scientific training.
UNIGE offers the Excellence Master Fellowship to attract top-performing students for Master’s programs in disciplines such as Astrophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Pharmacy, Physics, and more.
Fellowship is fully merit-based and open to students of all nationalities.
Annual funding ranges from CHF 10,000 to CHF 15,000 per year.
Funding is renewable for the full duration of the Master’s program (three or four semesters) subject to successful academic progress.
Fellowship recipients are not required to perform teaching or assistantship duties.
Programmes are taught in English or in English and French, depending on the discipline.
Eligibility requires a high-performing bachelor’s degree and ranking among the top students of the cohort.
Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the chosen Master’s program and complete the UNIGE enrollment procedure.
Applicants must not have already started a Master’s program at the Faculty of Science, UNIGE.
Selection is competitive and based entirely on the academic profile and application quality.
Application involves two steps: applying to the Master’s program and submitting the fellowship application online.
Required documents include a passport or ID, CV (max 2 pages), bachelor’s transcripts, motivation letter, and two academic reference letters.
Optional documents may include GRE, TOEFL, or other language test results.
Applications are submitted online through a personal link provided by UNIGE after registration.
Incomplete applications are not considered.
