The David Johnston – Lebovic Foundation International Experience Awards provide partial funding for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in academic, work, or volunteer experiences in Israel. Funded by the Joseph and Wolf Lebovic Foundation, these awards honor former Waterloo President David Johnston and his dedication to global learning and international student opportunities. The awards aim to reduce financial barriers and encourage international engagement aligned with academic requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
Be full-time undergraduate or graduate students at the University of Waterloo
Plan to participate in an approved international experience in Israel
Meet minimum academic standing requirements:
Undergraduate: normally 70% average
Graduate: normally 75% average
Participate in an experience related to academic or co-op requirements
Demonstrate strong academic achievement and commitment to international learning

One application form is sufficient for most international experience funding
Undergraduate students submit via the Undergraduate Studies Forms page
Graduate students should consult the Graduate Studies Office for guidance

Competitive selection based on:
Academic achievement

Final decisions are made by the Student Awards & Financial Aid Office (SAFA).
