Scholarship Overview:


The UM Global Studies Scholarship is a prestigious fully funded award for outstanding students wishing to pursue a Bachelor in Global Studies. This interdisciplinary programme equips students to address complex global challenges by integrating knowledge from six different faculties. Maastricht University awards one comprehensive scholarship annually to a top-performing candidate with excellent academic performance and strong personal development potential.

  • Global Studies: Interdisciplinary coverage of politics, economics, culture, sustainability, and global governance

Eligible Nationalities:

  • Students from countries eligible for OECD Official Development Assistance (ODA)

  • Applicants must not hold dual nationality from the European Economic Area or other non-eligible countries

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality from an eligible ODA country

  • Meet Dutch visa and residence requirements

  • Admission application to the Global Studies Bachelor programme

  • Satisfy Maastricht University admission standards

  • No previous higher education degree equivalent to a bachelor’s

  • Under 35 years old at the start of the academic year

  • Willing to act as a UM Global Studies ambassador during and after studies

  • One scholarship application per candidate

Application Procedure:

  2. Submit Scholarship Application: Complete the online form with required documents in PDF or Word format.
