University of Sydney International Student Award 2026 (20% Tuition Fee Reduction)

Overview:
The Sydney International Student Award recognises high-achieving international students from selected countries and regions. It provides a 20% tuition fee reduction for the full duration of eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees.

Degree Levels:

  • Undergraduate Coursework Degrees

  • Postgraduate Coursework Degrees

Eligible Subjects:

  • Business and Economics

  • Science and Engineering

  • Health and Medicine

  • Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences

  • Education

  • Psychology

  • Information Technology

Benefits:

  • 20% reduction in tuition fees for the entire course duration

  • Automatically applied to the offer letter

  • No separate scholarship payment required

  • Transferable to another eligible degree at the University

  • Supports full-time international students

Eligibility:

  • Must be an international student under the Higher Education Support Act 2003

  • Hold citizenship from eligible regions (Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Central Asia, Western Asia, Eastern Europe, South and Central America)

  • Receive an offer for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree

  • Not already enrolled at the University of Sydney (except second-degree applicants)

  • Meet academic entry requirements of the University

Application Procedure:

  • Apply for an eligible degree at the University of Sydney

  • Submit a personal statement during the application (3 sections, max 200 words each):

    • About yourself

    • Why you chose the University of Sydney

    • Academic and career goals

  • Eligible applicants are automatically considered; no separate application is required

Selection Criteria:

  • Academic merit

  • Quality of personal statement

  • Nationality and course eligibility

  • Meeting all admission and award conditions

Award Conditions:

  • Covers 20% of tuition fees only

  • No cash payments are made

  • Applies only to tuition fees payable to the University
