The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is now accepting early admission applications for undergraduate programs for the 2026 intake. KAIST is South Korea’s leading science and technology university, recognized globally for innovation, cutting-edge research, and interdisciplinary education. Located in Daejeon, KAIST offers programs in science, engineering, business, and technology, with English as the primary medium of instruction.

Benefits

KAIST Scholarship for International Students Includes:

• Full tuition waiver for up to 8 semesters (4 years)

• Monthly stipend of KRW 350,000 for living expenses

• National Health Insurance coverage

Additional Features:

• English-medium instruction: No TOPIK requirement

• Non-declared major system: Choose a major starting from the second year

• Scholarship requires a minimum GPA of 2.7/4.3 each semester to maintain

Eligible Nationalities

• Open to international students of all nationalities

Eligibility Criteria

• Must hold foreign citizenship (neither parent should be Korean)

• Applicants of Korean descent are eligible only if they completed their entire education outside Korea

• Applicants holding Korean citizenship, including dual citizens, are not eligible as international students

• Application fee is required

Application Procedure

1. Online Application

   • Apply through the official KAIST Application Portal

   • Deadline: January 6, 2026, 5:00 PM (KST)

   • All documents must be uploaded online; no physical submissions accepted

2. English Proficiency & Standardized Tests

   • TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, or AP scores are recommended but not mandatory

   • Applicants without scores will not be disadvantaged

3. Admission Guidelines

   • Read the official admissions guide before starting the application

   • International students currently enrolled elsewhere must withdraw upon acceptance
