Degree Level:
PhD / Doctoral degree (3.5 years fully funded)
Available for both full-time and part-time study

Eligibility:

  • Exceptional academic performance (first-class or equivalent undergraduate or integrated Master's, or distinction in a standalone Master's)

  • New PhD applicants only (current Imperial PhD students not eligible)

  • Both full-time and part-time study considered

  • Some departments may have restrictions for international candidates

Application Procedure:

  1. Find a Supervisor: Identify a potential supervisor who agrees to supervise your research project.

  2. Check Supervisor Availability: Review unavailable supervisors before applying.

  3. Online Application: Submit your PhD admission application through Imperial’s online system.

  4. Scholarship-Specific Instructions: Follow all additional requirements including the structure of your personal statement and research proposal.

  • Personal Statement (1 page): Motivation and relevant academic/research background

  • Research Proposal (1 page): Outline of your proposed research topic

  • Academic References: Two academic referees (do not list proposed PhD supervisor)

Selection Process:

  • College Selection Panel: Final decisions by Vice-Provost (Research), Director of Graduate School, and Faculty Vice-Deans
