Hungary Government (Stipendium Hungaricum) Scholarship 2026–2027 (Fully Funded)
The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship 2026/27 is one of Europe’s most prestigious fully funded scholarship programs, offered by the Government of Hungary and managed by the Tempus Public Foundation. Established in 2013, the programme aims to promote internationalization and cultural exchange by offering talented students worldwide the opportunity to study at top Hungarian universities.
This scholarship supports Bachelor’s, Master’s, One-Tier Master’s, PhD, and Non-Degree programs while covering full tuition fees, a monthly stipend, accommodation support, and medical insurance. Applications are open for the academic year 2026–2027 until 15 January 2026.
Degree Level
The scholarship supports the following study levels:

Bachelor’s Programs (BA, BSc) – 2 to 4 years

Master’s Programs (MA, MSc) – 1.5 to 2 years

One-Tier Master’s Programs – 5 to 6 years

Doctoral Programs (PhD) – 2 to 4 years

Non-Degree Programs – Preparatory or specialist training (1 to 2 years)

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship provides full financial support:

Tuition Fee Exemption: 100% coverage

Monthly Stipend:

HUF 43,700 per month for Bachelor’s and Master’s

HUF 140,000 per month for Doctoral students

Accommodation Support: Free dormitory placement or housing allowance

Medical Insurance: Comprehensive health coverage

Eligible Nationalities
Applicants from over 90 partner countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America are eligible.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following conditions:

Be a citizen of an eligible partner country

Apply through the designated Sending Partner in their home country

Meet academic requirements for their chosen program

Submit all required documents (transcripts, motivation letter, language proof, passport, medical certificate, etc.)

Must not hold Hungarian citizenship

PhD applicants must provide a research proposal and recommendation letters
