Hungary Government (Stipendium Hungaricum) Scholarship 2026–2027 (Fully Funded)

Overview:
The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, offered by the Government of Hungary and managed by the Tempus Public Foundation, is a fully funded scholarship for international students. Established in 2013, it promotes internationalization and cultural exchange by inviting talented students to study at Hungary’s leading universities.

Degree Levels:

• Bachelor’s Programs (2–4 years)

• Master’s Programs (1.5–2 years)

• One-Tier Master’s Programs (5–6 years)

• Doctoral Programs / PhD (2–4 years)

• Non-Degree Programs (1–2 years, preparatory or specialist training)

Available Subjects:

• Agriculture and Environmental Science

• Business, Economics, and Management

• Computer Science and Engineering

• Health Sciences and Medicine

• Humanities and Social Sciences

• Law and Political Science

• Arts, Architecture, and Design

Benefits:

• Full tuition fee coverage at participating Hungarian universities

• Monthly stipend: HUF 43,700 (Bachelor’s/Master’s), HUF 140,000 (PhD)

• Accommodation contribution (free dormitory or allowance)

• Comprehensive health insurance

• Travel allowance to/from Hungary

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a citizen of a Stipendium Hungaricum partner country

• Apply through the designated Sending Partner (national ministry or agency)

• Must meet academic qualifications for the selected program

• Complete application including transcripts, motivation letter, language proof, medical certificate

• PhD applicants require research proposal and recommendation letters

• Cannot hold dual citizenship with Hungary

Application Procedure:

1. Find your program via the official Study Finder

2. Confirm eligibility for country and study field

3. Register online at apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu

4. Upload all required documents

5. Submit application via designated Sending Partner

6. Admission and results announcement (usually by June 2026)
