About the Program

The Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Contest is an annual program designed to recognize and reward students who demonstrate creativity, inspiration, and academic potential. The contest offers four scholarships worth $8,000 each to eligible students from Southern and Midwestern U.S. states. Applicants submit a written or video essay highlighting a person from their community who has inspired them. This scholarship is ideal for high school seniors preparing for college or current undergraduate students.

Degree Level

• Undergraduate (Bachelor’s)

• Incoming freshmen or current students with at least one academic year / 18 credit hours remaining

• Graduate students are not eligible

Eligible Nationalities

• Legal U.S. residents living in the following states:
  Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum 2.0 GPA and in good academic standing

• Enrollment requirements: at least one academic year / 18 semester hours remaining or beginning freshman year next semester/academic year

• Age: 16 years or older

• Cannot be a previous Regions Riding Forward Quarterly Contest winner

• Essay must be original and AI-free; plagiarism results in disqualification

Application Procedure

1. Visit Official Contest Page: Access the current Quarterly Contest entry form

2. Prepare Your Essay:

   • Written essay: max 500 words, must be original

   • Video essay: under 3 minutes, max 1 GB, no music

   • Feature a community member who inspires you and explain how they helped you achieve goals

3. Complete Entry Form: Include personal info, academic details, GPA, contact info, and essay/video upload

4. Review & Submit: Ensure accuracy and submit before the Quarter 4 deadline: December 31, 2025

5. Wait for Notification: Winners announced ~2 months after each quarter’s deadline

6. Claim Award: Follow instructions from Regions Bank
