Opportunity Description
Qatar Museums presents “Interlocked Lights: Stories from the Single Image Awards,” bringing together the winning works of the 2023 and 2024 Photography Awards. The exhibition features 32 photographers whose images reflect the complexity, diversity, and cultural richness of life in West Asia and North Africa.
The selected photographs capture intimate, powerful, and transformative moments—from family life in Cairo to rituals in Saudi Arabia, from Palestinian refugee camps to the deserts of Qatar. Each image blends technical skill with deep storytelling, offering a window into everyday experiences and cultural evolution.
Using tools ranging from professional cameras to mobile phones, the photographers document themes of identity, heritage, resilience, and artistic expression. These visuals highlight the extraordinary in the ordinary: sharing bread in Old Sana’a, children playing in Iraqi landfills, or artisans maintaining traditional crafts in Egyptian workshops.
Collectively, the works form a visual narrative of transformation and belonging, revealing how a single frame can express both the uniqueness of a place and the universality of human experience.
Eligibility Criteria
The exhibition is hosted at Company House, located in Msheireb Downtown Doha. This historic building, formerly the headquarters of Qatar’s first oil company, stands as a symbol of resilience and the nation’s development. It provides an ideal venue for an exhibition focused on heritage, identity, and cultural transformation.
