About the Organization:
The CFSP is a fully funded scholarship program offered by the Government of Canada to strengthen institutional capacity in developing member countries of La Francophonie. It is managed by the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) and the World University Service of Canada (WUSC). The program targets French-speaking professionals holding key roles in their institutions who wish to enhance their skills through higher education, vocational training, or internships in Canada.

Program Overview:
This prestigious scholarship enables professionals to pursue Master’s, PhD, technical training, or short-term professional internships in Canada. Clinical training in medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy is not eligible.

Eligible Nationalities:

Nationals of developing member countries of La Francophonie (Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, the Middle East)

Only candidates nominated by their institutions according to the national quota system are eligible
Eligibility Criteria:

Must be employed nationals of an eligible developing francophone country

Hold a key institutional position contributing to capacity building

Selected internally by their institution following national recruitment procedures

Excellent command of spoken and written French

Meet academic and admission requirements of the selected Canadian institution

Apply for programs aligned with their country’s development priorities

Priority is given to candidates contributing to institutional strengthening upon return
Application Procedure:

Internal Selection by Institutions: Your institution identifies qualified candidates.

Nomination to Local Advisory Committee: Submit documents to the national advisory committee.

National Evaluation: Committee evaluates professional role, alignment with development goals, academic excellence, and French proficiency.

Admission to a Canadian Institution: Shortlisted candidates apply to Canadian universities or colleges.

Final Award Confirmation: Scholarship becomes effective after admission is granted.
