Course Details:
The UTRIP Research Internship Program is a six-week summer program designed for undergraduate students outside Japan with a strong interest in scientific research. Participants engage in hands-on research under faculty supervision in departments such as Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Earth & Planetary Sciences, and Biological Sciences.
The program includes:

Intensive research training in natural sciences

Participation in laboratory meetings and academic discussions

Reading specialized scientific papers

Interdisciplinary lectures and workshops

A field trip to a historical or natural site in Japan

A short course in Japanese language and culture

Academic and social activities
-
Submission of an oral presentation and a written research report at the end

Daily stipend based on region:

Asia / Eastern Russia / Oceania & Pacific: 140,000 JPY

Certificate of completion for eligible participants
Eligibility:
-
Completed at least one year of undergraduate study
-
Enrolled in a university outside Japan and returning afterward

Preferably a 3rd-year student in a 4-year program or 2nd-year in a 3-year program

Major in natural sciences or related fields

Long-term career plans in scientific fields

Commitment to the full six-week program

Proof of health insurance

Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS) or exemption if studied in English for 8 consecutive years
Student Commitments:

Dedicate full time to the research project

Attend all academic and social activities

Submit a final research report within two weeks after program completion
