Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Eric Bleumink Fellowship 2026, applicants must:

• Hold an Offer of Admission: Receive provisional or unconditional admission to a Master’s program at the University of Groningen before February 2026.

• Demonstrate Academic Excellence: Proven high academic achievement with excellent grades and recommendation letters.

• Meet English Proficiency Standards: Fulfill IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent requirements.

• Be in Good Health: Required for health insurance eligibility in the Netherlands.

• Show Financial Need: Applicants should not have other means to fund their Master’s studies.

• Be Fully Available: Commit to attending the entire program duration.

• Hold Eligible Nationality: Be a national of one of the developing countries listed by the university.

Application Procedure

Applicants cannot apply directly for the Eric Bleumink Fellowship. Instead:

1. Apply for a Master’s program at the University of Groningen before December 1, 2025.

2. University Admission Office and faculty committees nominate top candidates before February 2026.

3. Program starts in September 2026.

It is recommended to complete the Master’s application well before the December deadline to ensure fellowship consideration.
