About the Scholarship

The Axel Adler Scholarship 2026 is one of Sweden’s most prestigious tuition fee waiver programs, offered by the University of Gothenburg. It targets outstanding international students who wish to pursue Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programs. The scholarship is funded by the Adlerbertska Scholarship Foundation, Adlerbertska Grant Foundation, and the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).

The scholarship applies to all international Master’s programs and selected Bachelor’s programs at the University of Gothenburg.

Benefits

  • Full tuition fee waiver for the entire study duration:

    • Up to 120 credits (2 years) for Master’s programs.

    • Up to 180 credits (3 years) for Bachelor’s programs.

  • FAS+ insurance coverage provided by Kammarkollegiet during your stay in Sweden.

  • Note: The scholarship does not cover living expenses, accommodation, or travel costs.

Eligible Nationalities

The scholarship is open to international students from all countries.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be required to pay tuition fees in Sweden.

  • Submit your study application by 15 January 2026 and pay the application fee while documenting eligibility by 2 February 2026.

  • Receive an email invitation to apply for the scholarship between 10–28 February 2026.

  • Submit a CV and Letter of Motivation (max 3000 characters each).

  • Selection is based on academic excellence, motivation, and relevance of qualifications to the chosen program.

Application Procedure

  1. Apply for admission to an international program at the University of Gothenburg by 15 January 2026.

  2. Pay the application fee and verify eligibility documents by 2 February 2026.

  3. Receive an email invitation to apply for the Axel Adler Scholarship (around 10 February 2026).

  4. Submit your CV and Letter of Motivation through the scholarship portal by 28 February 2026.

  5. Scholarship results are announced via email:

    • Master’s applicants: 8 April 2026

    • Bachelor’s applicants: 14 April 2026
