About the Program (University of Oxford & St. Gallen Symposium)

The Global Leadership Challenge (GLC) is a joint initiative by the University of Oxford and the St. Gallen Symposium, designed to empower a new generation of responsible young leaders. Participants collaborate on real-world challenges with a focus on sustainability, responsible leadership, and innovation. The program combines education sessions, mentorship, and practical project development to address pressing global issues.


1. Global Leadership Challenge (GLC) 2025 for Young Leaders

The GLC 2025 program brings together 100 selected young leaders from around the world to work on impactful projects and real-world challenges. Participants gain leadership training, mentorship, and exposure to a global network of academics and senior leaders.

Program Dates: 11–15 December 2025
Format: Virtual participation available worldwide
Duration: 5 intensive days

Key Challenges Include:
– Schwarz Group Challenge: “Sustainable Living at Scale” – developing innovative solutions for healthier, sustainable living that are affordable and accessible.

Benefits:
– Membership in a diverse global community of young leaders

– Development of practical projects using design thinking

– Official Certificate of Achievement
– One-to-one mentorship from the Oxford Character Project

Eligibility Criteria:
– Master’s or PhD students, or young professionals aged 21–30
– Undergraduate degree completed
– Demonstrated commitment to responsible leadership
– Full participation required (five half-days, 11–15 December 2025)
– Open to all academic disciplines and nationalities

Application Timeline:
– Applications open: 26 September 2025
– Deadline: 2 November 2025
– Selected participants announced: Mid-November 2025

Application Requirements:
– CV (PDF), recent portrait photo (JPEG/PNG), proof of enrollment (students)
– Answer short questions and record a 40-second video message on responsible leadership
– Upload video to Google Drive, OneDrive, YouTube (Unlisted), iCloud, Swisstransfer, or Dropbox and share the link
