Funding and Benefits
DAAD provides partial funding through four distinct categories depending on travel type and distance:

Online Participation (Category 1)

Covers registration and membership fees (up to one year).

Reimburses abstract submission costs.

Funding available up to three times per year.

Short-Distance Travel (Category 2)

For distances up to 600 km.

Includes travel allowance, daily subsistence, and €300 material costs.

Encourages climate-friendly travel (train or bus).

“Green Mobility Top-Up” of €50 minimum per trip.

Medium-Distance Travel (Category 3)

For travel distances 601–3,700 km.

Includes travel and daily allowances plus €300 for materials.

Optional CO₂ offset reimbursement (50%).

Eligibility
Applicants must be:

Doctoral or post-doctoral researchers enrolled or working at a German university or research institution.

Scholars abroad funded by a German organization (if that funding doesn’t cover conferences).

Actively participating in the conference (presentation, poster, or panel).
Selection Criteria
Applications are evaluated on:

Research achievements and publications (past five years).

Travel cost efficiency and relevance.

Availability of DAAD funds.
