About Stipendium Hungaricum

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, established by the Hungarian Government in 2013 and managed by the Tempus Public Foundation, is one of Europe’s most prestigious fully funded scholarships for international students. It aims to promote internationalization, academic excellence, and cultural exchange by offering opportunities to study at Hungary’s leading universities.


Hungary Government (Stipendium Hungaricum) Scholarship 2026-2027 (Fully Funded)

This scholarship allows students to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, One-Tier Master’s, PhD, and Non-Degree programs with full financial coverage, including tuition, living stipend, accommodation, and health insurance. The scholarship is open for the academic year 2026–2027.

Eligible Nationalities

Open to students from more than 90 partner countries. Applicants must apply through their country’s designated Sending Partner.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Citizen of a Stipendium Hungaricum partner country

  • Meet academic requirements for the chosen program

  • Submit complete application with transcripts, motivation letter, proof of language proficiency, and medical certificate

  • For PhD: research proposal and recommendation letters required

  • Cannot hold dual citizenship with Hungary
