La Trobe Flexible Research Scholarship (FLEX) 2026 – Australia

Overview

La Trobe University offers the FLEX Scholarship to support research students with disabilities. This initiative provides financial, academic, and research support, ensuring equal access to world-class research opportunities. Eligible candidates receive funding extensions, research allowances, and additional support to complete their degrees successfully.

Benefits

Stipend: AUD $36,000 per year (full-time), paid fortnightly
Stipend Extension:
- PhD: up to 18 months
- Masters: up to 8 months
Candidature Extension:
- PhD: up to 12 months
- Masters: up to 6 months
Research Support Allowance: Up to $3,000/year for disability-related costs
Leave of Absence: Up to 24 months, depending on visa conditions
Tuition Fees: Covers extended candidature

Hold or have been offered an RTP stipend or LTGRS
Have a documented disability affecting research pace
Meet minimum academic standards:
- PhD: Masters by Research with ≥70%
- Masters by Research: High Honours 2A equivalent
Plan to undertake research at La Trobe University
