Program Overview

The OIST Visiting Scholars Program FY2026 welcomes researchers from diverse fields including mathematics, physics, chemistry, computational sciences, engineering, and life sciences. This prestigious fellowship allows participants to conduct independent research, collaborate with leading OIST research units, and participate in seminars and outreach activities. Visits start between April 2026 and March 2027.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field and be independent researchers such as senior postdoctoral fellows, junior group leaders, or faculty-level scholars. Candidates are required to submit a strong research proposal aligned with OIST’s mission and demonstrate potential for collaborative and interdisciplinary work.
