Fellowship Details
Columbia Law School offers two highly competitive postgraduate fellowships for the Class of 2026:
1. Columbia Law School Justice Fellowship
- Duration: 2 years
- Focus: Impact litigation and policy advocacy
- Host Organizations: Leading public interest groups such as the Center for Reproductive Rights, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), and New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU)
- Start Date: Fall 2026
2. David W. Leebron Human Rights Fellowship
- Duration: 1 year
- Focus: Full-time human rights work in an academic, legal, NGO, or governmental setting
- Open To: J.D. graduates (Class of 2026), LL.M. graduates, and recent alumni
Eligibility Requirements
- You must be a Columbia Law School J.D. graduate from the Class of 2026 (Leebron also open to LL.M. graduates and alumni)
- Demonstrated commitment to public interest, human rights, or social justice
- Strong academic background and leadership experience in legal or advocacy-related work
- Clear and compelling vision for future work in the legal or human rights field
