Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the fellowship, candidates must:

 1. Be fully registered on the doctoral candidacy list of their school (in DocGS).

 2. Be a full member of the TUM Graduate School by the time of application.

 3. Expect to be enrolled at TUM through the 2026/2027 academic year.

 4. Be in their final 2–3 years of the PhD program as of Fall 2025.

 5. Not hold another equivalent industry-sponsored full fellowship during the period of the Apple award.

All applications must be submitted by the PhD supervisor to the TUM Graduate School by August 1, 2025. Direct submissions from students are not accepted.

Selection Timeline

 1. Deadline to apply: August 1, 2025

 2. TUM will nominate 3 top candidates after an internal review.
