The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program offers a unique and immersive 11-week research experience designed to encourage undergraduate students in their pursuit of advanced educational and professional opportunities in research. Eligible students include those from Purdue University, other U.S. institutions, and international institutions. Selected students will conduct research either at Purdue's West Lafayette or Indianapolis campus under the supervision of a faculty member, graduate student, or postdoctoral advisor.This competitive fellowship is a paid opportunity, complemented by weekly workshops and seminars for professional development to help build participants' technical and communication skills. The program culminates in a research symposium where participants present their results. All participants must submit a final report detailing their results to both their project advisor and the Office of Undergraduate Engineering Research.

Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility criteria are as follows:- The summer fellowship is open to all students enrolled in a university.
- Applicants must currently be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students in a degree program.
- Applicants must have completed at least one semester of study before the summer fellowship application deadline.
- The minimum GPA requirement is 2.8/4.0 or its equivalent for consideration.
- All participants must submit a final report to their advisor.
- International applicants must apply for a J-1 visa.
