One of CERN's main tasks is education. Our experts enjoy sharing their knowledge with motivated and enthusiastic students. If you are an undergraduate student in a technical or administrative field and wish to spend a few months doing hands-on training, imagine yourself training at CERN in Geneva. It’s a great addition to your resume! We offer a limited number of internships in our hands-on training program, with durations ranging from 1 to 6 months.

Internship Duration:

1 to 6 months.

Required Documents

To be eligible for the internship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You are a full-time student (Technical/Administrative Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).
  • Please note that candidates pursuing a Ph.D. are not eligible for this program.
  • You must be at least 18 years old.


  • Your major should be in one of the following fields: Applied Physics, Computing, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Instrumentation, Materials Science, Radiation Protection, Safety & Environmental Protection, Surveying, Vacuum Technology, Scientific Communications, or in administrative fields like Translation, Advanced Administrative Work, Accounting, Legal Services, Human Resources, Library Services, Logistics.
  • You must remain a full-time student throughout the internship at CERN.
  • You should have good proficiency in English and/or French.
