Travel Opportunity Description: Selected participants will travel to Nice, France, to attend the full duration of the UN Ocean Conference negotiations, which will take place from June 9 to June 13, 2025. Arrival is scheduled for June 7, and departure on June 14.
The European Journalism Network will cover the costs of non-refundable air travel, accommodation, meals, travel health insurance, and ground transportation related to conference participation. Organizers will facilitate press accreditation and provide logistical support related to the trip. Please note that obtaining any necessary visas is the responsibility of the participants, although the European Journalism Network will reimburse visa costs. Fellows will also receive a daily allowance to cover personal expenses during their stay in Nice.
Five to eight journalists will be selected for this in-person fellowship. Prior to the UN Ocean Conference, fellows will receive media resources and technical support to prepare for coverage. They will participate in a virtual pre-conference workshop to meet their group and media coach, discuss coverage opportunities, and address any questions to support pre-conference reporting and preparation.

Funding Details: The leadership grant covers all expenses for attending the conference in Nice, France, including:
France visa (Schengen Visa)
Hotel accommodation in France
Travel health insurance
Meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
Round-trip airfare to Geneva
Free entry to the opening ceremony
