Fellowship Overview

  • Duration: 18 months (12 months abroad at a foreign research institution + 6 months reintegration phase at a German university)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Hold a doctoral degree completed with excellent results before the fellowship begins
  • Have obtained the doctorate no more than six years prior to application
  • Possess at least one peer-reviewed publication
  • Not have spent more than 12 months in the host country during the last three years
  • Demonstrate a clear intention to pursue a long-term academic career in Germany
  • Secure commitments from both a German university and a foreign host research institution

  • Curriculum vitae including academic and professional background
  • Degree certificates and transcripts
