The Obermann International Fellowship provides $2,000 toward travel and lodging, comprehensive University of Iowa health insurance, dedicated office space, library access, institutional affiliation, visa support, and structured scholarly programming
Who Should Apply
This opportunity is open to researchers or artists holding at least an undergraduate degree from accredited institutions outside the U.S. Fellows bring projects that align with University offerings and contribute innovative global perspectives. Up to eight fellowships are awarded annually
Duration & Eligibility
Fellowships span from two weeks to a full semester—flexibly scheduled within a single Fall or Spring term. Spring 2026 placements occur between January 20 and May 8, 2026
