Eligibility & Research Focus

Open to international scholars holding a PhD (or undertaking one) in civil, geotechnical, structural, environmental, or transport engineering, this opportunity welcomes early-career and experienced researchers passionate about infrastructure innovation. You’ll work on projects aligned with structural health monitoring, circular construction materials, geomechanics, or pavement durability 

Scope & Duration

This partially funded position spans six months, with the potential to extend up to one year. You’ll be engaged in advanced R&D, modeling pavement fatigue, developing machine-learning tools for damage prediction, and creating early-warning systems for road networks 

Funding & Support

The scholarship provides a monthly maintenance allowance of approximately €1,309 plus social security contributions. Access to CRGroup’s state-of-the-art labs, expert mentors, and a vibrant research community at Lisbon’s engineering faculty is included
