Details

This merit‑based, need‑sensitive award offers ¥50,000 per month for living expenses throughout your degree. Undergraduates and PhD students can receive up to three years of funding; master’s students up to two years . Funds disburse in four annual installments beginning April 2026 . While this is a private scholarship, your eligibility depends on not receiving any other scholarships in 2026 

Eligibility

To be considered, you must be a privately‑funded international student already enrolled full‑time at Tokushima University with valid “Student” visa status  Applicants must be citizens of select Asian countries including India, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Nepal, and others—a total of 21 nations and two regions  Age limits apply as of March 31, 2026: undergraduates 25 or younger, master’s 30 or younger, PhD 35 or younger  Financial need must be demonstrated and recipients must participate in events and submit annual progress reports 

Benefits

Monthly support of ¥50,000 helps cover your living costs so you can fully concentrate on studies and research. The scholarship extends through the standard length of your programme and carries no repayment obligations—only the requirement to maintain eligibility 

How to Apply

Hand‑write all application forms and essay (in Japanese) using black ink—this cannot be typed  Required documents include your completed form, an up to 800‑character Japanese essay, a recommendation letter from your academic advisor, consent forms, official transcript, certificate of enrollment, residence card copy (front/back), and optional JLPT N1 certificate or thesis summary . Submit everything to the International Affairs Division (Josanjima Campus) by Friday, August 29, 2025
