Details

The Malta Government Undergraduate Scheme extends financial support to full-time undergraduate students at the University of Malta, MCAST, licensed private institutions, or foreign universities offering MQF Level 6 programmes. Funding runs from October to June for each academic year 

The award includes:

a regular stipend (every 4 weeks)
an annual grant for educational materials
a one-time first-year incentive 

Funding levels depend on your course category:
General courses receive €86.85 per 4 weeks, €465.87 annually for materials, and €465.87 one-time
Prescribed courses receive €151.99 per 4 weeks, €698.81 materials, €98.81 one-time
High-priority courses receive €302.10 per 4 weeks, €698.81 materials, and €465.87 one-time 

Eligibility

Must be a full-time, on-campus undergraduate student – no distance learning
Must study at a recognized local or foreign institution with MQF Level 6 recognition
Submit online between 1 October and 31 December 2024 (late applications accepted later but paid from the date of submission) 
Eligible learners include Maltese citizens (or those with one Maltese parent), EU/EEA nationals or family members, or third-country nationals with refugee/long-term resident status, all with minimum 5 years’ residence in Malta

How to Apply

Log in with e-ID and password at the official Student Grants portal
Complete and submit the online form by 31 December 2024 (you can update up to June 2025) 
Provide uploads: ID, transcripts, course acceptance, proof of tuition payment, residency documentation, etc.
Submit corrections or updates through June after initial submission
