Details

  • A fully funded program offering 20 Master’s degrees (≈17 months) and 5 PhD degrees (≈36 months) at renowned Korean institutions like KAIST, Yonsei, KDI, and others 
  • Total of 109 scholarships available in 2025 
  • Application opens early 2025; KOICA round Feb 1–29, University round Mar 4–29, final deadline July 31 2025 

Eligibility Criteria

Must hold nationality from a KOICA-partnered developing country and be a government official nominated through your ministry 
Age preferably under 40; good physical and mental health required 
For Master’s: Bachelor’s degree + ~2 years of relevant work experience
For PhD: Master’s degree + ~3 years professional experience (especially if already KOICA Master’s awardees) 
Strong English proficiency required; scholarship is not open to previous Korean government scholarship recipients

Benefits

  • Full tuition waiver, monthly stipend (~KRW 999,000 / ~USD 800) 
  • Round-trip airfare and settlement allowance: roughly KRW 600,000 (Master’s) or KRW 1,200,000 (PhD) 
  • On-campus accommodation, national health insurance, private medical coverage 
  • Up to KRW 600,000 (Master’s) or KRW 600,000 (PhD) as completion grant
  • Funding also supports language training, workshops, and cultural activities
