Trainees begin full-time residency in London from January 19 to April 10, 2026, working from GovAI’s headquarters on a self-directed research project developed within the program’s first two weeks. Eligibility
Candidates from any country are welcome. GovAI encourages applicants from broad academic and professional backgrounds—including computer science, political science, law, economics, philosophy, public policy, or sociology—especially those with interest in AI governance. No formal degree is mandatory; what matters most is potential for high-quality research, strong reasoning, clear communication, and intellectual honesty.
Benefits
Each fellow receives a generous stipend of £11,000, along with travel support to and from London, weekday lunch provision, and access to GovAI’s dedicated workspace. Fellows are fully integrated into a program of expert seminars, peer feedback, skill-building workshops, Q&A sessions, and professional networking events. Visa beaver support ensures full-time in-person participation.
How to Apply
Submit an online application by 13 July 2025 including a concise CV, personal statement, research proposal or interest statement, and writing sample. Successful applicants undergo a 20-minute automated assessment in August, a paid remote work test, followed by a video interview in September. Final decisions will be communicated by October 2025.
