Eligibility
Applicants must identify as women and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents attending full‑time at an accredited U.S. institution Those enrolled in joint‑degree programs may apply if their full‑time coursework is within an approved field. Previous recipients of national AAUW fellowships or professional/master’s degrees are ineligible Preference is given to applicants who overcame socioeconomic, academic, or family‑related challenges; are first‑generation college graduates; or come from single‑parent households
Supported Fields
Eligible degree programs include architecture (M.Arch.), computer/info science (MS), engineering (ME/MS), mathematics/statistics (MS), business administration (MBA), law (JD), and medicine (MD/DO). Science and technology fields are open to all, while business, law, and medicine fellowships are reserved for women of color
Benefits
Selected recipients receive a $20,000 stipend disbursed in two equal payments during the fellowship period, to be used for tuition, fees, books, living expenses, and childcare
Timeline
Applications open August 1, 2025 and close September 30, 2025. Awarded fellows will be notified on April 15, 2026, with the stipend released in July 2026 and January 2027 .
