Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the CWAJ NJG Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Identify as a woman
- Be a non-Japanese national without permanent residency in Japan
- Be enrolled in a PhD degree program at a Japanese university from April 2026 to March 2027
- Reside in Japan at the time of application
- Not have had any education in Japan prior to a bachelor’s degree (excluding short-term language study)
- Not hold scholarships exceeding ¥1.5 million from other programs during the scholarship period
- Not have previously received a CWAJ award or be a CWAJ member
