The German Bundestag IPS Africa Scholarship 2027 is a fully funded parliamentary fellowship offered by the German Parliament in Berlin Germany
The program is designed for politically engaged young graduates from selected African countries who are interested in governance democratic leadership public policy and legislative processes
The fellowship will take place in January and February twenty twenty seven

Applicants must be citizens of one of the eligible African countries
Eligible countries include Botswana Ghana Kenya Namibia Nigeria Senegal South Africa Tanzania and Uganda

Applicants must be citizens of an eligible African country
Applicants must be under thirty years of age by one January twenty twenty seven
Applicants must hold a completed university degree
Applicants must demonstrate strong political or social engagement
Applicants must have German language proficiency at minimum B2 level
Applicants must show clear interest in democracy governance leadership public policy or parliamentary work
Applicants involved in NGOs youth organizations civil society public leadership community initiatives or political and social activities are strongly encouraged to apply
program structure
The fellowship combines academic learning with practical parliamentary experience
The program includes seminars and workshops on governance democracy public policy and democratic institutions
Participants will attend meetings with members of the German Parliament
The program includes training sessions on project management and intercultural dialogue
Fellows will complete a one week placement in the office of a Bundestag member
Participants will gain exposure to legislative procedures policy making processes and the daily work of the German Parliament
The program also introduces fellows to Germany’s political system democratic values and international cooperation initiatives
