Details

Applications for the 2026–2027 cycle open on June 1, 2025 and close on July 14, 2025. The exam and selection process includes reviews, interviews, and final placement. The fellowship start is planned for March–August 2026, depending on pre-departure orientation and host university placement 

Eligibility

Applicants must be Egyptian citizens residing in Egypt throughout the application period. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and demonstrate a minimum of five years of full-time work experience, ideally in leadership roles or policy-related positions. Fluency in English is required; applicants lacking sufficient test scores may be offered intensive English training in the U.S. 

Fellowship Benefits

This prestigious award covers round‑trip international airfare, a monthly living stipend, a settling‑in allowance, books or professional development funds, tuition and fees for academic components, and full health insurance coverage. The fellowship also provides access to professional development opportunities, conferences, and mentorship support 

How to Apply

Create an account on the official IIE Humphrey application portal and complete the online form by July 14, 2025. Required documents include scanned national ID, academic transcripts (in English), two recommendation letters (one must be from your current supervisor), English test score (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, or equivalent), a current CV, and a recent photo. Include copies of any previous U.S. J1 or J2 visas if relevant. Applications must reflect original content—plagiarism may lead to disqualification
