Shape the Future of Democracy: Join the 2025 Youth Delegation in France

The World Forum for Democracy is an annual event that brings together policymakers, civil society actors, and youth leaders to discuss and develop solutions to key challenges facing democracies worldwide. The 2025 edition will focus on the theme "Democracy at risk: how can we revive it?" and will be held at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg. The Youth Delegation will consist of up to 50 participants who reflect the diversity of young people around the world and offer a wide range of perspectives on democracy. Participants will engage in plenary sessions, workshops, and discussions, contributing to the development of new ideas and solutions for democratic revitalization.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Youth Delegation, applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age, able to communicate and work in English, and actively involved in youth or civil society initiatives focused on democracy and civic participation. Applicants should be motivated to share their experiences and contribute ideas for democratic revitalization. Additionally, they must be available to fully participate from November 2 to 8, 2025, including pre-Forum preparation. Priority will be given to applicants from Council of Europe member states and those with previous engagement in youth activities of the Council of Europe.
Benefits
Participation in the Youth Delegation is fully funded. The Council of Europe will cover travel costs, visa expenses, accommodation, and meals for the duration of the event. Participants must attend the full programme to be eligible for reimbursement. The programme offers a unique platform to engage with global leaders, enhance intercultural dialogue, and contribute to shaping the future of democracy.

Applicants are encouraged to provide complete information about their involvement with democratic initiatives and youth engagement. The selection process will consider factors such as gender balance, geographical representation, and the diversity of experiences and perspectives.
