Scholarship Details

Administered by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic in partnership with the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF), this scholarship programme offers up to 195 awards including 150 for bachelor’s or combined bachelor/master’s and 45 for master’s level students. The programs begin in the 2025–26 academic year and span up to three years for undergraduate studies or two years for master’s degrees depending on your program and intake timing. Scholars pursue full-time study in fields aligned with Slovakia’s Smart Specialisation Strategy.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible you must be a citizen of a country other than Slovakia and must not have permanently resided in Slovakia since at least January 1, 2020. You must have gained admission or be applying to a public Slovak university for full-time b achelor’s or master’s study beginning in the 2025–26 academic year. Applicants should hold a completed or expected high school diploma for undergraduate studies, or a recognized bachelor’s degree for master’s entry. A valid SAT score of at least 1100 is required. Additional documents include a motivation letter and structured curriculum vitae in English.

Scholarship Benefits

Each recipient receives up to €5,000 per academic year, equivalent to about €500 per month over a ten‑month academic cycle, with total value reaching €15,000 for full duration. Tuition fees at Slovak public universities are covered and health insurance assistance is provided where needed. Scholars also enjoy support with visa procedures and eligibility to participate in Erasmus+ or other academic mobility schemes.

How to Apply

Begin by securing admission to an eligible Slovak public higher education institution. Once accepted, complete the online scholarship application via the official portal before the deadline of July 31, 2025 (CET). Include your SAT results, CV, motivation letter, proof of admission, passport copy, and any required guardian consent for applicants under 18. Ensure all materials are in English and meet formatting specifications. Scholarship decisions are typically communicated in mid‑September 2025
