The AGRTPS is administered by the Australian Government in collaboration with Flinders University. Up to six scholarships are awarded annually, each covering international tuition fees and providing a tax‑free stipend of AUD 35,010 per year (2025 rate) for up to 3.5 years for PhD candidates. Recipients may also receive a relocation allowance of up to AUD 1,485, along with Overseas Student Health Cover. The scholarship application window opens on 23 May 2025 and closes on 18 August 2025 (Adelaide time)↚
Eligibility
Applicants must be citizens of countries other than Australia or New Zealand and must not hold Australian permanent residency. You must be beginning full-time higher degree research studies (PhD or Master by Research) in Australia for the first time in 2025. A strong academic record is essential, along with evidence of research potential and alignment with Flinders’ research strength areas. The scholarship covers full tuition fees and offsets costs via an RTP placement for up to 4 years. You’ll receive a generous living stipend of AUD 35,010 annually, paid fortnightly and tax-free. After arrival in Adelaide, a one-time relocation grant of up to AUD 1,485 is available with receipts. Overseas Student Health Cover is also included↚
How to Apply
First apply for admission to a higher degree by research program (PhD or Master) at Flinders University through the Studylink portal. Once registered and assigned a Student ID, activate your account and receive a Flinders Authentication Name (FAN). Use your FAN to log into the OKTA dashboard, navigate to My Scholarship.
