Scholarship Type: Fully Funded
Duration: Master’s or PhD: 4 semesters (2 years), Combined Master’s and PhD: 8 semesters (4 years)

Monthly stipend of at least 500,000 KRW provided by the academic supervisor

For combined Master’s and PhD students: exemption from language and qualifying exams, no Master’s thesis required, automatic funding continuation for PhD

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be international students (non-Korean with non-Korean parents)
Complete 16 years of education outside Korea
Master’s applicants: hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree
PhD applicants: hold a recognized Master’s and Bachelor’s degree
Obtain formal acceptance and recommendation from a full-time faculty member at Chung-Ang University
Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 per semester to continue receiving benefits

Graduation Requirements

Master’s students must publish a JCR-indexed article individually or with their supervisor within one year after graduation
PhD students must publish a JCR-indexed article as first or corresponding author, separate from the dissertation
Combined Master’s and PhD students must publish a JCR-indexed article as first or corresponding author, separate from the dissertation

Research Registration Fees

PhD students are required to register for research for two semesters
Registration fees are 10% of total tuition and are not covered by the CAYSS scholarship. Students must pay this fee

Applicants must first apply to the Chung-Ang University Graduate Program
After admission, they can apply for the CAYSS scholarship through the university’s official website
