The Rector’s Scholarship is one of the most competitive awards at SGH, reserved for students who demonstrate exceptional results in their studies or who achieve remarkable accomplishments in science, the arts, or sports at national or international levels. With a history of academic excellence and international engagement, SGH attracts students who are determined to become global leaders, and this scholarship highlights the very best among them.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program at SGH and have achieved outstanding academic performance in the previous academic year. The scholarship is awarded to no more than ten percent of students in each program, making it one of the most selective honors at the university. While new students are generally not eligible, exceptions are made for those entering with distinguished achievements such as winning international Olympiads. Candidates must also show academic progress by having been enrolled in the previous semester.

Scholarship Benefits

Recipients of the Rector’s Scholarship receive financial support to ease tuition costs while gaining formal academic recognition within the university. The award not only supports students financially but also enhances their reputation as part of the top-performing community at SGH. The scholarship may be renewed annually, provided the student continues to maintain exceptional academic standards.

Application Process and Deadline

Applications for the 2025/2026 academic year will be open from October 15 to October 28, 2025. Candidates must generate their application through the USOS online system and then submit it either in person, by mail, or via the electronic platform specified by the university. Since the award is highly competitive and limited in number, applicants are encouraged to prepare early and present strong academic evidence of their achievements.
