What You’ll Need to Apply

Your application includes a résumé, transcripts, three essays, two professional recommendations, GMAT or GRE score (writing component required), and if applicable TOEFL/IELTS/PTE scores for non-native English speakers. There’s also a $250 application fee (reduced to $100 for current college students) and required acceptance of HBS admissions policies 

Who We’re Looking For

The Class of 2026 (currently enrolled) was selected from around 9,856 applicants with just 930 students enrolling—yielding a roughly 9% acceptance rate. Applicants brought an average of five years of work experience and strong academic backgrounds, with a median GMAT of 740 (range 540–790) and median GRE Quant and Verbal both at 163 

Women comprised about 45% of the class, international students made up approximately 35%, and pre-MBA industries ranged across consulting, VC/private equity, technology, finance and beyond

Harvard looks for candidates with authentic leadership stories, community impact, intellectual curiosity and clarity of purpose. The admissions process holistically assesses the application including essays, recommendations, test scores and interview responses. Interviews are invitation-only followed by a post-interview reflection exercise

Admissions Opening and Timeline

Applications for the Class of 2028 opened June 30, 2025 and will be accepted through two rounds for full‑time admission in fall 2026. Round One submissions close at 12 PM ET on September 3, 2025 with decisions released December 10. Round Two begins thereafter with a deadline of January 5, 2026 and decision notifications by March 25, 2026. Beyond that deadline, applications are not considered
