The NHS UK Bursary is available to students enrolled on approved Office for Students‑listed medical or dental programmes lasting five or six years for undergraduate entry or three to four years for graduate entry Between academic years starting 1 September 2025 through 31 August 2026 the scheme offers a non‑means‑tested grant of £1 052 combined with means‑tested support up to £3 356 for those studying outside London or living with parents or £3 356 in London depending on residence status Tuition fee contributions up to £9 535 per year are paid directly to your university and you may qualify for additional allowances such as dependant support, childcare, travel or disability expenses as your circumstances allow 

Who Is Eligible

You must ordinarily reside in England on the first day of your first NHS bursary‑eligible academic year and not have moved there primarily to study Students must meet immigration residency requirements, not be in custody, and avoid receiving financial support over the NHS bursary entitlement from other organisations Medical or dental degree candidates become eligible for NHS NHS-funded support from Year Five of their course or from Year Two of accelerated graduate-entry programmes
