Harvard Academy Scholars Program 2026 USA Fully Funded
The program is offered by Harvard University through the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies and is designed for outstanding scholars in the social sciences with a strong regional focus outside the United States and Canada
This is a fully funded postdoctoral fellowship that supports advanced doctoral candidates and recent PhD graduates in conducting independent research
The fellowship is a two year in residence program based in Cambridge Massachusetts where scholars are immersed in a dynamic academic environment
Eligible fields include anthropology economics geography government history international relations law political science psychology public policy sociology and gender studies as well as interdisciplinary regional studies such as Middle East Africa South Asia East Asia Latin America and Europe when grounded in social science research
Eligibility
Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent degree awarded recently or be advanced doctoral candidates able to complete their degree before the fellowship begins
Candidates must come from a social science discipline and demonstrate strong expertise in a region outside the United States or Canada
Applicants should not have previously held another postdoctoral fellowship and must be available to begin the program in August while residing in Cambridge Massachusetts during the academic year
The program is open to applicants of all nationalities from around the world
