The JTEA Scholarship 2026 supports undergraduate students preparing for graduate school as well as those entering master’s, doctoral, and professional degree programs. It welcomes applications from all academic disciplines including science, technology, social sciences, humanities, arts, medicine, business, and engineering. Students will have the freedom to advance their education in a recognized Japanese university while benefiting from international research opportunities and a rich cultural exchange between Taiwan and Japan.

Eligibility

The scholarship is open exclusively to Taiwanese students. Applicants must be under 35 years old as of April 1, 2026 and must be enrolled in a regular program at a Japanese university or graduate school by that date. Final-year undergraduates preparing to continue to graduate studies are also eligible to apply.

Benefits

Successful applicants will receive a generous monthly stipend of ¥144,000 for master’s and professional programs and ¥145,000 for doctoral programs. The scholarship also supports tuition fees and other academic expenses within the available budget. Funding typically extends across the full duration of the chosen program, ensuring stability and focus for each scholar.

Application Process

Applicants should download the official forms from the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association website and prepare the required documents, which include the application form, a recommendation letter from their supervisor, a health certificate, a pledge form, and a checklist. All documents should be printed in A4 size and mailed to the JTEA office. Completed applications must be postmarked no later than October 24, 2025.
