Shape the Future of Research: MSCA Europe PhD Scholarships 2025 (Fully Funded)
Program Types and Research Scope
Each MSCA Doctoral Network operates through international consortia that include at least three independent organizations from three different EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. Additional partners from around the world may also join, offering candidates an unparalleled level of mobility and interdisciplinary engagement.
Eligibility and Candidate Profile
The program welcomes talented researchers of all nationalities who aspire to start their doctoral journey in Europe. To be eligible, applicants must not already hold a doctoral degree and must comply with the MSCA mobility rule, meaning they must not have resided or carried out their main activities in the recruiting country for more than twelve months within the past thirty-six months. Selected candidates will be enrolled in a doctoral program during the project period, benefiting from co-supervision, secondments, and international research collaboration.
Funding and Benefits
The MSCA Europe PhD Scholarships 2025 are fully funded by the European Union, ensuring that doctoral candidates can focus entirely on their research and training. The support package includes a generous living allowance, a mobility allowance, and additional allowances for family, long-term leave, or special needs where applicable. The funding also covers costs related to research, training, networking activities, and project management. Each researcher may be recruited for a duration of three to thirty-six months, or up to forty-eight months in the case of Joint Doctorates, while projects may last up to four years (or five years for Joint Doctorates).
Why Choose MSCA Doctoral Networks
The MSCA program represents the highest standard of doctoral training in Europe, combining academic excellence with professional and international experience. As part of the globally recognized Horizon Europe framework, MSCA scholars gain access to a network of world-class institutions, laboratories, and industries. The program’s emphasis on mobility, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration enables researchers to explore diverse perspectives and build global connections. Graduates emerge with a strong portfolio of academic achievements, cross-sectoral experience, and the skills required to drive meaningful change in their fields.
