 Research Focus

PhD candidates will engage in experimental and modeling research, concentrating on:

  • Designing and operating advanced nanofiltration systems to enhance contaminant removal efficiency.
  • Studying interactions between micropollutants and membrane materials, including pharmaceuticals, steroid hormones, pesticides, and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
  • Analyzing membrane structure-performance relationships to optimize filtration processes.
  • Publishing research findings in high-impact journals and presenting at international conferences.
  • Collaborating with global experts in the field of membrane technology.
  • Supervising master's students and participating in minimal teaching responsibilities.

 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Possess experimental problem-solving skills and experience with membrane filtration systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English (knowledge of German is advantageous).
  • Exhibit strong academic writing and communication abilities.
  • A valid driver’s license is preferred.
