Fellowship Details

The program is available for Master’s and doctoral studies across faculties including engineering, sciences, business, arts, IT, environmental and marine sciences, social sciences, and Islamic studies. The scholarship is designed for academic merit and leadership potential, with rolling applications accepted year‑round for the 2025–26 academic cycle

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must be non‑Saudi, residing outside Saudi Arabia at the time of application and hold the appropriate prior degree: a bachelor’s for Master’s or a master’s for PhD admission. A strong academic record equivalent to a GPA of roughly 3.75/5 or a “very good” grade is required. Age limits apply: under 35 for Master’s and under 40 for PhD applicants. English language proficiency is mandatory unless you are applying to programs taught in Arabic or Islamic studies. Required documents include a valid passport, transcripts and certificates certified by the Saudi Embassy, two academic recommendation letters, and for postgraduate applicants, a motivation or research statement. Applicants must be medically fit and have no history of dismissal from Saudi institutions 

Scholarship Benefits

Recipients enjoy full tuition coverage for the duration of their program along with a monthly stipend to support living expenses. University-provided accommodation and meals are included, complemented by comprehensive health insurance. Airfare coverage is granted annually for travel to and from your home country and arrival preparation allowances are offered upon initial arrival. Additional perks include subsidized thesis printing and book shipping allowances upon graduation. Postgraduate scholars gain access to modern research labs and funding for conferences or research needs. Exceptional Master’s scholars may be eligible to transition to PhD status under the same scholarship terms 

How to Apply

Applications open continuously with no fixed cutoff, though early submission is recommended. Undergraduate deadlines fall around June 14, 2025, while the Master’s and PhD deadline is usually October 31, 2025. To begin, register on the official KAU Scholarship Portal
