Applicants must be citizens of the United States or permanent residents of the United States
Students must also meet the academic, athletic, enrollment, identity, and geographic eligibility requirements of the program
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents
Applicants must be Black high school student-athletes
Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll full-time at an accredited undergraduate institution
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
Applicants must actively participate in athletics
Applicants must demonstrate strong personal character and leadership qualities
Applicants must show a meaningful commitment to volunteer work and community service
Academic performance, athletic participation, leadership experience, personal character, and community involvement may be considered during the selection process
Eligible Counties
Applicants must reside in Sarpy County, Douglas County, Cass County, Lancaster County, or Pottawattamie County
Applicants residing outside the eligible counties may not qualify for the scholarship
Scholarship Recipient Categories
One scholarship will be awarded to an eligible Black male student-athlete
One scholarship will be awarded to an eligible Black female student-athlete
Both recipients must meet all academic, athletic, residency, enrollment, and community service requirements
Required Application Documents
Applicants may be required to submit a completed scholarship application
An official or unofficial academic transcript may be required to verify the applicant’s cumulative grade point average
Applicants may need to provide evidence of United States citizenship or permanent residency
Proof of residence in one of the eligible counties may be requested
Verification of participation in high school athletics may be required
Applicants may be asked to describe their leadership experience, volunteer work, community service, and personal achievements
Students may need to provide information about their intended college, academic program, and future educational plans
Proof of planned full-time enrollment at an accredited undergraduate institution may be required
Additional supporting documents may be requested according to the official scholarship application instructions
